Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"The lemon pie is divine—definitely save room for it. We only had starters; the fried courgette flowers were our favorite (though a bit pricey), with a light batter. The pickled ratatouille was refreshing, but the barbajuans were quite dry—maybe that’s how they’re meant to be. The linguine pistou are good but too Al dente (and they taste better at Le Merenda). They forgot our order but made up for it with a free digestif. The acoustics are terrible, so sit outside if you can."
"Heard about this place so made sure I tried it out. Arrived just before opening at 7pm without a reservation, managed to get a table and it filled up quick. The food was incredible! Had the anchovies which were raw, fresh and very tasty. Then the pesto linguine which had an amazing aroma and taste. For the main I had the Niçois beef, the meat was fantastic, the gravy was rich and powerful. Had to then have their speciality citron tart which didn't disappoint. Finished with a coffee and accompanied by wine recommended by the waiter. What an amazing experience, one of the best meals I've had. Merci."
"This is a wonderful small restaurant. The food is fantastic with a good section of wines. They seem to be one waiter short on the Saturday evening we went ...even in January, restaurant tables full. I might suggest getting there right at 7:00 p.m. and ordering right away. Desserts were amazing, especially the apple tart. The waiters are happy to help with explaining items in English if you don't speak at least restaurant French. Highly recommend."
"Yesterday we had a very unique dining experience at Chez Davia! We wanted to sit without reservation but had to wait 30 minutes for a table and I’ll just say it was definetly worth the wait. The atmosphere is quite cozy and authentic, inside aswell as outside. However the star of the show truely was the food! We had the Calamars, thon de Mediterrane, Daube de boeuf and as desert the tarte citron and claufontis. All dishes that I highly recommend trying. Apart from the high quality and excellent taste I also found the dishes inventive. For example the Daube de boeuf was garnished with pickled grapefruit (something I didn’t know I needed to taste. Overall we had a very nice dining experience and want to give a special thanks to Sylvain who was our waiter aided to this nice experience. Definitely a must visit!!"
"Refined, elegantly prepared local food. An absolute delight from start to finish. Portions suitable for 3 courses which was perfect for us. The produce is local, fresh and prepared in a delicate and very tasty manner. Wine recommendation was superb. The dining room is small creating an authentic atmosphere. Price fair for the quality and execution. We can’t wait to return - thank you"
"A nice, traditional artisan restaurant. The place feels very intimate. The waiters are a bit rushed, which makes it feel uncomfortable. We had a cold rabbit terrine for starters. It was truly delicious. The red wine was also very good."
"Super, amazing food. I believe they were short staffed. My tip might be to go on a week night or right at 1900 hours when they open, order food and wine quickly! Excellent wine list. Nice ambience even with close tables. Nice staff. (They may have been short a waiter who had to take care of the whole dining area the Saturday evening we went.). Tarte de pomme dessert was memorable."
"One of my favorite meals of the year (2025) we had a dinner reservation and loved the food so much we immediately made a reservation for lunch the next day. This is very simple but thoughtful Niçoise cuisine. The pesto linguine is incredible. We loved the stuffed sardines as well as the fried zucchini flowers and the fried calamari. 100% will be back. The interior of the restaurant is so cozy and we loved sitting inside the next day!"
